“The future is female” many say, but what exactly does it mean to be a woman in today’s age. Ella Hilsenrath is a young multimedia artist exploring the duality women face on a daily basis in her sometimes life size sculptural pieces.
Born and bred in New York, and now based in the Bronx, the Jewish artist uses textiles, wood and metal to produce works of art that reduce the female body to its from devoid of any alternations and thereby exploring concepts of vulnerability and strength. Ella is an alumni of the renowned School of Visual Arts in New York. She has showcased her works at various art institutions including the Ceres Gallery in New York and is currently completing additional training as an art therapist.
